I’m Tristan Byrnes, the founder and lead therapist at Byrnes Counseling Group.

My journey as a therapist is not just a profession; it’s a calling deeply rooted in my own experiences and a sincere desire to make a difference in people’s lives. My path to becoming a therapist was driven by a passion for understanding human emotions and the complexities of our identities. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I have both personal and professional insights into the challenges faced by those grappling with their identity, relationships, and mental health. This unique perspective has been pivotal in shaping my approach to therapy.

My Approach

I believe in a therapy approach that is as unique as you are. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where you can freely express yourself and explore your thoughts and feelings. Together, we’ll work to uncover and address the root causes of your challenges.

I combine various therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the Gottman Method for couples counseling, and specialized support for gender identity exploration, to offer personalized care that resonates with your individual needs.
